8/2/16: Ann Arbor, The Ark. The Ark has to be in my top venues of all time. Between a tremendous audience, a gorgeous space, and top notch sound, this venue has it all. When we’re sitting in the green room we see bands on the wall like Fleet Foxes, The Mars Volta, even Old Crow Medicine Show (you can hear Critter from OCMS on our new album on the track ‘Silver Days.’) The last time we had played the Ark was with our good friends Lidnsay Lou and the Flatbellies. We were thrilled to have a huge crowd out for tonight’s show and I was especially excited to have my Aunt, Uncle, and niece see my play with the band for the first time (They really liked the spoons.) I’ll never forget hearing the roar and chant of 'encore’ at the end of the show, which very well could have been the loudest I had ever heard it be chanted for the band. We ended the night at the diner across the street, sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful evening weather after such an unforgettable show.
